Split Plato Znjan

Project plato Žnjan started in October 2017 by removing all illegal objects from the beach.

In February 2018, the design solution of the architectrual bureau Ante Kuzmanić – architects Ivan Jurić, Mirjana Radoš, Marin Kaliterna, Luka Mužinić – were selected.

In March 2020, mayor Andro Krstulović Opara presented conceptual  project  to the public that included the sidewalk on the Ivana Pavla II promenade, the installation of the completely new lightning, construction of a bicycle path with exits, horticultural arrangements of the road along with the 100 square meter of entrataiment, recreational and relaxation contet.

This is one of the largest projects that Split had in over 40 years. After the project is finished, Žnjan will become the second largest green oasis  in Split with 48.000 m2 of greenery.

Estimated to finish by the end of the May 2025, the grand opening was announced to be the first day of the summer. Plato Žnjan will have sports terain for cageball, basketball, handball, beach volleyball and tennis. There will also be outdoor gym. Musical and cultural events will be moved to an amphitheater with a capacity of three thousand seats, visitors can also enjoy catering facilities such as restaurants and cafes.
